RampArts Community Art Group

RampArts is a not-for-profit community art group organised by volunteers. We currently have around 25 members and meet weekly in Rampton Village Hall. We welcome beginners who may not have picked up a brush for many years and feel they lack the confidence to join a more formal art class. We also welcome more skilled artists who wish to explore new ideas and different materials and to work with like-minded people. At present we are fully subscribed.

We create pictures by following the Bauhaus-inspired Basic Course which focuses on Composition, Line, Colour, Tone, Texture and 3-Dimension. Pictures created in this way may be purely abstract or more representational. Members are free to work to their own schedule, without pressure. We use a variety of media and provide help and encouragement to each other.

Projects are designed to provide a starting point to try out new materials, to look at how other artists work and gain confidence. The broad base of projects allows each person to develop their own individual style. Instruction is experiential, learning by doing, and not by demonstration or formal teaching of techniques.
